Walter
Hopmans 
Walter Hopmans started
young in music. First (school)band the Hawkies After that
loads of bands. After roaming Spain and Finland he played
from
1993 till 2001 in the legendaric rockformation Geronimo. An Amsterdam
based rockformation with blues influences. Drums:Drums Herman van
Boeyen (ex-Vitesse) ,guitar: Pablo Minnoli
(now in Laberinto) ,bass: Ferry Volker and Walter vocals, bluesharp and
guitar. From
1992 onwards he plays together with Pasi Saharinen and acts as sideman
in many
bands from Finland (Tiny Tones, Groovy Eyes Duo, Ugly Acoustic Boys,
Saltwater Jinx,
Yo Buddy& Down Home King III) In 2004 he organised Walter
Rootsie and the
Backboners and here they play their own songs and Walter concentrates
more and
more on writing his own material.In the summer of 2005 the band gets a
new name
“Walter and the Blue connection. They start
recording their own CD. There is some
delay cause Walter lives in Holland and the others live in Finland. A
couple times
a year they come together to play music in the studio

Eerste (school)band
The Hawkies. Daarna in allerlei bands gespeeld. Na omzwervingen in
Spanje en Finland heeft hij van 1993
tot 2001 in
de legendarische rockformatie Geronimo
gespeeld. Een Amsterdamse rock formatie met bluesinvloeden. Drums Herman

Volker en Walter zang, bluesharp en gitaar.
Vanaf
1992 speelt hij al samen met Pasi Saharinen in Finland en speelt
regelmatig
als sideman mee op bluesharp met diverse Finse bands (waaronder Tiny
Tones,
Groovy Eyes Duo, Ugly Acoustic Boys, Saltwater Jinx, Yo Buddy&
Down Home King III).
Eind
2004 formeert hij de Finse gelegenheids band Walter Rootsie and
the Back - boners. Hier worden de eerste
eigen
nummers gespeeld en richt Walter zich vanaf
dat moment veel meer op het schrijven van eigen nummers.
Vanaf
de zomer van 2005 wordt de band omgedoopt tot Walter and the Blue
Connection. Begonnen wordt om nummers op te nemen en deze op cd te
zetten. Doordat Walter in Nederland woont
en de rest van de band in Finland, duurt het wel even, voordat
uiteindelijk alles is opgenomen. Meerdere keren per jaar komen ze bij
elkaar om het repertoire samen
te
stellen en de studio in te gaan.
